Level, on a 1–10 scale

Palworld 1.0 expanded work suitability from 1–4 to 1–10 and rebalanced every Pal. Renjishi holds the highest base Kindling in the game at 8; levels 9 and 10 exist but are reached only by condensing. Any guide capping Kindling at 4 predates 1.0.

Whether it stays put

A Pal with other work suitabilities will leave the furnace to do them. Jormuntide Ignis has Kindling 7 and nothing else, which is why it's the classic dedicated smelter — while Renjishi also carries Handiwork 6, Gathering 5 and Transporting 5.

Not the structure

Kindling level gates no building. Every furnace and the Cooking Pot list "Kindling ×1" — a worker slot count, not a level requirement. A Kindling 1 Foxparks can run a Gigantic Furnace, just slowly. The tech tree is the real clock.

Work suitability levels, rarity, spawn regions and the per-level Kindling work values are datamined from paldb.cc (read 18 July 2026). The "vs K1" figure is a relative index derived from those work values (50 at Kindling 1 rising to 5,400 at Kindling 10); levels 5, 8 and 10 are corroborated outside paldb, while 4, 6, 7 and 9 are paldb-single-source. It is not a rate: no ingots-per-hour, smelting time or "% faster" figure is computed, because Work Speed is a flat 100 on every Pal and real output also depends on IVs, passives, food, SAN and condensing — none of which are modelled. Ranking within a Kindling level is our editorial tie-break, not a datamined ordering. Breeding routes are deliberately not solved here: 116 of the game's 299 Pals carry a fixed "Unique Combo" that overrides the usual rank maths.
