Where to Watch Widow's Bay: The Whole Season Fits in the Free Trial

- Widow’s Bay streams on Apple TV and nowhere else, and all ten episodes of season one are already out. Apple lists the first six at 36 to 41 minutes each, so the whole season runs around six and a half hours — comfortably inside the seven-day free trial if you want it for nothing.
- Apple TV costs $14.99 a month in the US after the trial. The same service is £9.99 in the UK, C$14.99 in Canada and A$15.99 in Australia, each with the same seven-day trial.
- Four routes cost less than $14.99: the Apple Music Student Plan at $6.99 includes Apple TV, a new Apple device comes with three months, Apple One bundles it, and the Peacock bundle adds a second service for $3.00 more.
- The release schedule was not what most write-ups say. Ten episodes went out across eight dates between 29 April and 17 June 2026, because two of those dates carried two episodes, not one.
If you have just watched Widow’s Bay sweep the Emmys and want to know where to start, the answer is short and the good news is better than usual: it is on Apple TV, all ten episodes are already out, and the whole season is short enough to finish inside the free trial. Here is the service, the price in four countries, the four ways to pay less than the headline figure, and the release schedule that most summaries get slightly wrong.
Where can you watch Widow’s Bay?
On Apple TV, and nowhere else. It is an Apple original, so there is no second service, no rental, no purchase and no ad-supported tier.
| Detail | Widow’s Bay |
|---|---|
| Service | Apple TV |
| US price | $14.99 / month |
| Free trial | 7 days |
| Episodes out | 10 of 10 |
| Season 1 ran | 29 Apr – 17 Jun 2026 |
You can watch in a browser at tv.apple.com, or through the Apple TV app, which Apple ships on its own devices, on Android, on smart TVs and streaming sticks, and on Windows through the Microsoft Store. Downloads for offline viewing are supported on Apple devices. The show’s own listing is on Apple TV here .
There is one other route worth knowing about: in the US, Apple TV is also sold as an add-on inside Prime Video, with its own free trial, and Amazon has run a bundle pairing it with Peacock Premium Plus. The subscription is the same service either way — it is a billing choice, not a different library.
How long is the whole season?
Ten episodes, and the six Apple publishes lengths for run between 36 and 41 minutes. That puts the season at roughly six and a half hours.
| Episode | Length |
|---|---|
| 1. Welcome to Widow’s Bay! | 41m |
| 2. Lodging | 37m |
| 3. The Inaugural Swim | 38m |
| 4. Beach Reads | 36m |
| 5. What to Expect on Your Trip | 37m |
| 6. Our History | 37m |
| 7–10 | not listed |
Those six total 226 minutes. Apple does not publish lengths for episodes seven to ten on its web listing, so take the longest one it does publish and assume the other four match it: 226 + 164 = 390 minutes, or six hours thirty minutes. That is a ceiling, not a measurement, and the true figure is probably lower — the six known episodes average under 38 minutes.
Is the free trial really enough to finish it?
Yes, with room to spare. Six and a half hours against a seven-day window is under four per cent of the time you are given.
Put another way: two evenings. There is no weekly wait to work around, because the last episode went out on 17 June — the thing that usually makes a trial useless for a new show, having to come back in six weeks for the finale, does not apply here.
The honest caveats, all from Apple’s own terms. The trial is for new subscribers only, and Apple also excludes “qualified returning” subscribers from some offers, so a lapsed account may not get it. It renews automatically at $14.99 unless you cancel, which means the seven days are a real deadline rather than a soft one. And a single subscription covers up to six people through Family Sharing, so if anyone in your household already pays, you do not need a trial at all.
What does Widow’s Bay cost after the trial?
$14.99 a month in the US. Apple charges a different headline number in each market, and the trial is seven days in all of them.
| Market | Monthly | Trial |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $14.99 | 7 days |
| United Kingdom | £9.99 | 7 days |
| Canada | C$14.99 | 7 days |
| Australia | A$15.99 | 7 days |
These are the prices Apple prints, not conversions. Canada’s number happens to look identical to the US one because both are written with a dollar sign; they are different currencies and not the same amount of money.
Can you watch it without paying $14.99?
Four routes on Apple’s own page cost less than the standard monthly price, and each has a condition attached.
| Route | Price | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Music Student | $6.99 / mo | Verified students only |
| New Apple device | 3 months free | Redeem within 90 days |
| Apple One | from $21.95 / mo | Bundles five other services |
| Apple TV + Peacock | $17.99 / mo | US only |
The student route is the one most people miss. The Apple Music Student Plan is $6.99 a month and Apple TV comes with it — less than half the standalone price, with a music service attached rather than removed. It does not extend to a Family Sharing group, and access ends when you stop qualifying.
The device offer has the tightest small print. Three months is generous, but it is one offer per Apple Account and one per Family Sharing group regardless of how many devices you buy, it has to be redeemed within 90 days of activation, and it is unavailable if you or anyone in your family has previously taken a three-month or one-year Apple TV offer.
The Peacock bundle is worth a moment of arithmetic. Apple sells Apple TV alone at $14.99 and Apple TV with Peacock at $17.99. The difference is $3.00 a month — that is what the second service costs when bought this way. Whether that is a bargain depends on a Peacock standalone price this page does not print, because Peacock’s own site would not serve it to us.
For contrast, not every streaming answer is a subscription: when we looked at The Celebrity Traitors , the thing standing between a UK viewer and the show was a £180 TV Licence, which no free trial can shorten.
When did the episodes actually come out?
Between 29 April and 17 June 2026 — but across eight dates, not ten, because two of those dates carried two episodes.
| Date | Episodes |
|---|---|
| 29 April | 1, 2 |
| 6 May | 3 |
| 13 May | 4 |
| 20 May | 5 |
| 27 May | 6, 7 |
| 3 June | 8 |
| 10 June | 9 |
| 17 June | 10 |
This matters only because of how widely the schedule is described as “the first two episodes, then weekly”. That sentence covers the 29 April double-drop and misses the one on 27 May, and if you follow it forward from the premiere you land on a 24 June finale. The finale was 17 June.
Apple does this often enough to be a habit rather than an accident. Lucky , also on Apple TV, opened with a double premiere in July and then ran weekly on Wednesdays — the pair-them-up move is used to get a show past its setup before the first week’s wait.
Is there a season 2?
Yes. Apple renewed the show on 11 June 2026 — six days before its own finale aired, which is unusually early confidence for a first season.
There is no release date, and nobody should expect one soon. Showrunner Katie Dippold said the writers’ room opened in late July 2026 with about twenty weeks of writing ahead of it, and confirmed that filming was aimed at early the following year. Jeff Hiller was promoted to series regular for season two in August.
That gap is the strongest argument for treating season one as a complete object rather than the start of a wait. It is a ten-episode, self-contained run, it is finished, and the next one is a long way off.
The bottom line
Apple TV, $14.99 a month, seven days free — and a season short enough that the trial is a genuine option rather than a technicality. If you are a student, $6.99 gets you the same thing plus Apple Music. If you have just bought an Apple device, check whether your three months are still unredeemed before paying for anything. And if you are checking the episode count against a summary somewhere, trust ten: the show’s fourteen Emmy wins, a record for a comedy series, came from a season that was already over when the awards were handed out — six at the September ceremony on top of the eight it had taken at the Creative Arts weekend .
How we verified this
Every price on this page comes from Apple’s own pages, and each one was checked twice. The monthly prices, the seven-day trial, the student plan, the device offer, the Apple One floor and the Peacock bundle all come from Apple’s country pages for the service, read on 16 September 2026. Each market’s figure was then confirmed a second time against that market’s own storefront page for the show, which carries the price independently of the marketing page: $14.99 in the United States, £9.99 in the United Kingdom, C$14.99 in Canada, A$15.99 in Australia. Both surfaces agree in all four markets.
The runtime total is a ceiling, not a measurement. Apple publishes lengths for the first six episodes only: 41, 37, 38, 36, 37 and 37 minutes, totalling 226. The remaining four are not listed on its web page, so the figure used here assumes each of them runs to 41 minutes, the longest Apple does publish. That gives 390 minutes. The real total is almost certainly lower, and either way it is a fraction of a seven-day window.
The release dates were taken from two independent episode listings that agree line for line, including the detail that matters: episodes six and seven both went out on 27 May 2026. The prose summaries that describe the run as “two episodes, then weekly” are describing only the first of two double-drops, and following that description forward puts the finale a week later than it actually landed.
One write-up was checked and set aside. A large technology site describes the premiere as three episodes. Apple’s own listing and the trade coverage from the day of release both say two. The primary sources win.
Two numbers on Apple’s own page do not agree, and both are reported here rather than reconciled. The show page carries a 14+ age badge beside the title and states “Rated TV-MA” in its information panel. TV-MA is the stricter of the two. Apple publishes both; this page says so instead of picking one.
What is deliberately absent. No review scores, because they move. No season two release date, because none has been announced. No price for the Prime Video route, because Amazon does not show it without a signed-in account, and this page does not open accounts to find out.
