- Anyone looking for Eurosport in the UK will not find it. The organiser still lists Eurosport against Spain, but the UK channels were replaced by TNT Sports, so the brand on the listings page is not the brand a UK viewer needs.
- The 2026 race starts outside Spain. Stage 1 was a 9.4km time trial in Monaco, and the route crosses France and Andorra before reaching Spanish roads on stage 5.
- Adding up the organiser’s own stage distances gives 3,308km, while the same page headlines the race at 3,275km — a 33km gap that is reported here rather than smoothed over.
The 2026 Vuelta a España began on 22 August and runs to 13 September. In the UK it is on TNT Sports — and that is worth stating plainly, because the international listings still carry a brand name that no longer exists here.

Where can you watch the Vuelta a España in the UK?
TNT Sports. The race organiser names it directly. Its own broadcasters page lists rights holders country by country, and the United Kingdom entry reads “UNITED KINGDOM : TNT SPORTS”.
That is a stronger answer than a TV listing, because it comes from the organisation selling the rights rather than from a guide reprinting them.
TNT Sports runs a dedicated La Vuelta section carrying stage results, standings and highlights, which confirms the coverage from the broadcaster’s side as well.
Why do some listings still say Eurosport?
Because the organiser’s list is international, and Eurosport still exists in other markets. The same page that names TNT Sports for the United Kingdom lists Eurosport against Spain.
For a UK viewer that is a dead end. Eurosport’s UK channels were replaced by TNT Sports, so searching for Eurosport in a UK electronic programme guide will not find the race. The rights are the same rights; the shopfront changed name.
One thing this page cannot tell you is the packaging — which TNT Sports channel number carries which stage, or whether the race is streamed on discovery+ in the UK. TNT Sports’ own cycling pages do not mention discovery+ at all, and its UK site could not be checked for channel numbers from here, so nothing is asserted about either.
Who has won the stages so far?
Two stages have been ridden. Tadej Pogačar took the opening time trial and Josh Brennan won the first road stage.

Stage 2 finished in a bunch, with Brennan, Pol Miquel Delgado and Pogačar all given the same time of 4h 47’ 47" and separated by the bonus seconds on the line — ten, six and four respectively.
After stage 1 the organiser listed Pogačar as holding the leader’s jersey and Josh Tarling of Netcompany INEOS as holding one of the others, with UAE Team Emirates XRG leading the team classification.
No overall classification is given here. Stage 2 had only just finished when this was written and the organiser’s rankings page would not switch out of its stage-result view, so quoting a general classification would have meant guessing at one.
Does the Vuelta a España start in Spain?
Not in 2026. The race opened with a 9.4-kilometre time trial around Monaco, spent stage 2 crossing into France, and reaches Spanish roads only on stage 5.

Stage 4 is a mountain stage that starts and finishes in Andorra la Vella, at 104.8 kilometres the second-shortest day of the race.

The shortest day is the 9.4-kilometre opening time trial; the longest is stage 2 at 214.3 kilometres. The second time trial, 32 kilometres from El Puerto de Santa María to Jerez de la Frontera on 10 September, lands late enough to matter.
How long is the 2026 Vuelta in total?
The organiser says 3,275 kilometres. Its own stage table adds up to 3,308.
That is a 33-kilometre gap between two figures published on the same page. The stage-type counts on that page do match the table exactly — four hilly stages, one hilly uphill finale, four flat, four medium mountain, six mountain and two time trials — so the table is not mis-transcribed here.
Which of the two figures is correct is not something this page can settle, so both are given. If you want the number that is consistent with the individual stages you can check, it is 3,308.
When are the rest days?
Monday 31 August and Monday 7 September, both falling after a Sunday mountain or medium-mountain stage.
The first follows stage 9’s summit finish at Alto de Aitana on the Costa Blanca. The second follows stage 15 into Córdoba, and leads into the final week through Andalusia.
How does the 2026 Vuelta finish?
In Granada on Sunday 13 September, over 112 flat kilometres — the shortest road stage of the race.
The decisive days come immediately before it: the 32-kilometre time trial on 10 September, an uphill finish at Peñas Blancas above Estepona on 11 September at 210 kilometres, and a mountain stage to Collado del Alguacil on 12 September. A Grand Tour that opens with a time trial in Monaco ends with three days that could still move it.

✅ The broadcast answer comes from the race organiser, not from a listings guide. lavuelta.es publishes a broadcasters page grouped by continent; expanding Europe gives an entry reading “UNITED KINGDOM : TNT SPORTS”. That is the rights holder stated by the people selling the rights, which is the strongest form this answer takes.
🔴 The same page still lists Eurosport against Spain, and that is the trap. Eurosport’s UK channels no longer exist — they were replaced by TNT Sports — so a UK reader who sees Eurosport on an international listing and goes looking for it will come up empty. The distinction between who holds the rights and what the channel is called in your country is the thing this section exists to make.
⚠️ What is not verified is the packaging. Which TNT Sports channel carries which stage, and whether discovery+ streams the race in the UK, could not be checked from here.
