The Remarried Empress K-Drama: Cast, Episode Schedule & Where to Watch

- This page covers the live-action K-drama, a different production from the webtoon it adapts and the anime set up with Crunchyroll for 2027.
- US viewers should look on Hulu, where US listings label it a Hulu Original. Disney also names Disney+ in the US, and Disney+ is the home in Korea, the UK, Canada and Australia.
- There are 10 episodes. As of Nov. 6, 2026, only 1-4 are out, since Nov. 3; 5-6 are due Nov. 11, 7-8 Nov. 18 and the finale episodes 9-10 Nov. 25.
- Shin Min-a plays Empress Navier, Ju Ji-hoon plays Emperor Sovieshu, Lee Jong-suk plays Crown Prince Heinrey and Lee Se-young plays Rashta.
- ⚠️ As of Nov. 6, Disney has not published a clock time for new episodes, so any drop time you see is a report or a pattern, not an official schedule.
- ⚠️ Rotten Tomatoes’ episode grid, read Nov. 6, points to a Dec. 2 finale. Disney says the finale is Nov. 25.
The Remarried Empress is a 10-episode live-action K-drama streaming on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in Korea, the UK, Canada, Australia and other Disney+ markets. As of Nov. 6, 2026 (07:30 UTC, or 2:30 a.m. ET), only episodes 1-4 are out, and the finale is set for Nov. 25. This guide covers the drama, not the webtoon it adapts or the anime planned for 2027.
Where can you watch The Remarried Empress?
In the US, look on Hulu; elsewhere, look on Disney+. Disney describes the series as exclusive to its two services, and the split works like this:
- US: Hulu, where US listings label it a Hulu Original. Disney’s US guide says it streams on Hulu and Disney+, but Disney+’s US title page, read Nov. 6, sells it through plans that include Hulu, so a Disney+ plan without Hulu may not include it. Check the app.
- UK: Disney+, confirmed on Disney+’s UK guide.
- Canada: Disney+, confirmed on Disney+’s Canadian title page.
- Australia: Disney+, confirmed on Disney+’s Australian guide. That page was written before the date moved and still says Nov. 4, so ignore the date.
- Korea: Disney+, where it is billed as a Disney+ original series. It is not on a Korean broadcast channel.
You may also see a title called The Remarried Empress: A Special Look. That is a behind-the-scenes feature on Disney+ and Hulu, not an episode.
When do new episodes of The Remarried Empress come out?
Two new episodes are due every Wednesday through the finale on Nov. 25, after a four-episode premiere on Nov. 3. Disney gives the Wednesdays and the two-a-week pace; four episodes plus two on each of three Wednesdays is the only split that reaches 10, and published episode schedules match it. Dates in the table are release days, and the status in brackets is as of Nov. 6, 2026.
| Date | Episodes |
|---|---|
| Tue., Nov. 3 | 1-4 (out) |
| Wed., Nov. 11 | 5-6 (upcoming) |
| Wed., Nov. 18 | 7-8 (upcoming) |
| Wed., Nov. 25 | 9-10, finale (upcoming) |
Two dates floating around online are wrong or out of date:
- Nov. 4: This was the original premiere date, and many pages still show it, including Disney+’s own US guide. Disney moved the opening up by one day, and the change was revealed at the Seoul press conference on Nov. 3.
- Dec. 2: Rotten Tomatoes’ episode grid, read Nov. 6, spreads the episodes two per week and ends on this date. It also labels the Nov. 11 episodes as 3 and 4. Disney says the finale is Nov. 25, and episodes 3 and 4 are already out.
What time do new episodes drop?
As of Nov. 6, 2026, Disney has not published a clock time for any episode. Its Nov. 3 release gives dates only, and we found no time on its US, UK or Australian guides.
The pattern so far rests on one release, and Disney has not confirmed the hour. The host of the Seoul press conference, as quoted by StarNews, said only that the episodes would arrive on the afternoon of Nov. 3. Korean outlets OSEN and Geumgang Ilbo reported 5 p.m. Korea time, which converts to 12 a.m. Pacific, 3 a.m. Eastern, 8 a.m. in the UK and 7 p.m. in Sydney. Xportsnews and Etoday described 5 p.m. as the expected time under Disney+’s usual midnight Pacific release, and Xportsnews said Disney+’s side did not confirm it when asked. If the Wednesday episodes follow that pattern, they would appear at the same clock times on their release dates, but that is our conversion and not a promise from Disney.
Who is in The Remarried Empress cast?
Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young lead the cast. Romanization varies: Disney’s US material writes the names as Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung, while its Australian guide uses the hyphenated spellings we use here.
Lead cast:
- Shin Min-a as Empress Navier, ruler of the Eastern Empire alongside her husband
- Ju Ji-hoon as Emperor Sovieshu, Navier’s husband
- Lee Jong-suk as Crown Prince Heinrey of the rival Western Kingdom
- Lee Se-young as Rashta, the runaway slave Sovieshu falls for
Supporting cast, as announced ahead of the premiere:
- Lee Bong-ryun as Countess Eliza, the head lady-in-waiting
- Choi Dae-hoon as McKenna, Heinrey’s cousin and secretary
- Nam Yoon-ho as Lante, Sovieshu’s secretary (Baron in some English listings, Marquis in Korean coverage of Disney’s cast stills)
- Jung Young-joo as Albani
- Park Ho-san as Viscount Lotteshu, Rashta’s former master
Special appearances:
- Lee Joon-hyuk (also written Lee Jun-hyuk) as Wharton III, also spelled Wotton III. His agency confirmed the special appearance and the role.
- Kang Han-na as Krista, also spelled Christa, reported to be Wharton III’s wife. Her agency confirmed only that she appears, and neither actor is on Disney’s lead cast list.
Who made it, and what is it based on?
Cho Suwon directed it, Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol wrote the screen adaptation, and it is based on Alphatart’s web novel and the Naver webtoon. The director’s name also appears as Jo Soo-won, and earlier credits include Pinocchio and Still 17. Studio N produced it.
The webtoon was adapted by HereLee with art by Sumpul. Disney credits the webtoon with close to 3 billion views, and Korean press reports 2.97 billion global views as of July 2026. The first three episodes had their world premiere in the On Screen section of the Busan International Film Festival, which ran Oct. 6-15.
Is this the same as the webtoon or the anime?
No, this is a separate live-action adaptation that shares a title with both. The webtoon is the illustrated source you read on Naver and Webtoon. The anime is a separate adaptation set up with Crunchyroll, planned for 2027, with a first-look trailer already out and no exact date that we could find. If you are searching for episodes on Hulu or Disney+, the live-action drama is what you will get.
What is The Remarried Empress about?
Empress Navier’s marriage collapses when Emperor Sovieshu falls for a runaway slave and asks for a divorce, and Navier agrees on the condition that she may remarry Crown Prince Heinrey of the rival Western Kingdom. That is the official setup. Some older copy and listings say Eastern Kingdom or Western Empire; we follow Disney’s current wording of Eastern Empire and Western Kingdom.
⚠️ Spoiler warning: the next paragraph covers early events from episodes 1-4 only, and nothing from later episodes or the ending.
Sovieshu comes across Rashta during a hunt, rescues her and brings her into the palace, where he wants her as his mistress. Navier has to keep up her duties in front of a watching court. Heinrey arrives at the Eastern court, takes an interest in Navier and has a secret of his own: he can change into a bird.
Does it have an English dub?
Yes, Disney+ says you can watch in the original Korean with English subtitles or in a dubbed version with English audio. That wording appears on its US, UK and Australian guides. Its Canadian title page gives no audio details, so check the audio menu there.
What does Rotten Tomatoes say so far?
There is no Tomatometer score yet. When we read the page on Nov. 6, 2026, it showed four reviews and no percentage, and fewer than 50 audience ratings, too few for an audience score. Those early write-ups cover only the opening episodes, and this guide does not give a verdict.
If you want another recent Korean series, our guide to The Affair Was Just the Beginning covers its cast, schedule and where to stream it.
