Key takeaways
  • As of Nov. 6, 2026, neither TV Season 3 nor the film Solo Leveling: Beyond the System has an official release date.
  • Official: Beyond the System was announced July 3, 2026, at Anime Expo and is in production at A-1 Pictures. It picks up after Season 2, and no story details beyond that are official.
  • ⚠️ The 2027-2028 window for Season 3 is expected, per D&C Media. It comes from an earnings document read through automated translation, and it is not an announcement from Aniplex, Crunchyroll or A-1 Pictures.
  • ⚠️ Nobody involved has said whether the film replaces, bridges or precedes Season 3. Exact dates on aggregator sites are rumor.
  • The Season 3 that returned on Nov. 5, 2026, is the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok webtoon on KakaoPage. ARISE OVERDRIVE is a game, and the Netflix project is a live-action series.
  • Seasons 1 and 2 stream on Crunchyroll in the US. Season 2 ran 13 episodes and ended March 29, 2025.

As of Nov. 6, 2026, neither TV Season 3 of Solo Leveling nor the film Solo Leveling: Beyond the System has an official release date. The film is real and in production. The 2027-2028 window attached to Season 3 is expected, per D&C Media, and it is not an announcement from Aniplex, Crunchyroll or A-1 Pictures. We last checked the official anime site at 6:25 a.m. ET (11:25 UTC) on Nov. 6, and its newest news item was still the July 4 film notice.

Does Solo Leveling Season 3 have a release date?

No. TV Season 3 has no official release date, and we found no Season 3 announcement from Aniplex, Crunchyroll or A-1 Pictures. Nothing on the official anime site’s news list since Season 2 ended mentions a Season 3. Anime Expo in July brought a film instead of season news, and Polygon reported that Crunchyroll and Aniplex stopped short of confirming what comes after it.

The one direct Crunchyroll comment we found came before the film was announced. In a May 2026 Radio Times interview, reported by ScreenRant, Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini said he had nothing to announce, that the creators were actively working on the next show, and that he hoped something could be announced soon. He gave no date.

What does the 2027-2028 window actually mean?

It is expected, per D&C Media, and it is not a release announcement. Polygon, which describes D&C Media as the owner of the Solo Leveling IP, reported on June 10 that the company’s earnings document reads “Anime Season 3 confirmed (expected 2027–2028).” ScreenRant identifies the source as D&C Media’s fourth-quarter results for fiscal 2025.

A few things limit how far that line goes:

  • Polygon read it through an automated translation, and we could not get the original filing.
  • It gives no month or day within those two years.
  • Polygon itself called the window unconfirmed.
  • “Confirmed” is the word in the automated translation Polygon quoted. D&C Media is one of the film’s producers, but the official anime site does not mention a Season 3, and we found no such statement from Crunchyroll.
  • Headlines calling this an “official release window” point to this same document. ScreenRant, which ran one, says in its own text that it is not a finalized release announcement.
  • As quoted, the line says Season 3 and names no film. Nobody official has applied this window to Beyond the System, so do not read it as the film’s date.

What is officially known about Solo Leveling: Beyond the System?

It is a theatrical anime film in production that picks up after Season 2, and it has no release date. It was announced at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo showcase on July 3, 2026. The official Japanese site posted its notice on July 4 with a teaser video and teaser visual, and it gave no date.

What has been reported so far:

  • Story: Only that it continues after Season 2. Claims about specific arcs or an original story are not official.
  • Studio: A-1 Pictures returns.
  • Producers: Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media, Kakao Piccoma and Crunchyroll.
  • Director: Anime News Network reports Tao Tajima is directing and Tomoko Sudo returns as character designer and key animator. The official notice lists no staff.
  • Voices: Collider says the concept video features Jinwoo, voiced by Taito Ban and Aleks Le, and IGN says Le presented the reveal at Anime Expo. We found no official film cast list.

Does the film replace Season 3?

Nobody involved has said, so it is unknown whether the film replaces, bridges or precedes Season 3. Outlets have read it in opposite ways, and none of those readings comes from Aniplex, Crunchyroll or A-1 Pictures.

The confusion has a real source. CBR reports that Crunchyroll’s first version of the teaser ended with an “S3” label that the Aniplex and Sony versions did not have, and that Crunchyroll later changed it without explanation. That tells you a label changed. It does not tell you the plan.

Headlines saying Season 3 could be cancelled rest on rumor and inference. We found no official statement that supports them.

Which Solo Leveling release dates should you ignore?

Ignore any specific Season 3 or film date that does not trace back to the official anime site, Crunchyroll or Aniplex. Search results for this topic are crowded with aggregator and mirror pages that print confident dates, and we are not repeating any of them.

Some entertainment sites also state a year for the film as if it were settled. IGN and Polygon said no date was given at the announcement, Anime News Network and TheWrap printed none, and the official site still shows none. Theatrical calendars listing untitled anime films are not confirmation either.

A real date should be easy to spot: look for it on the official site’s news list or in Crunchyroll’s own announcement.

Why do November headlines say Solo Leveling Season 3 is back?

Those headlines are about other Solo Leveling projects, mainly the Ragnarok webtoon. The table below shows each project with the Solo Leveling name, what type of work it is, and the date attached to it.

ProjectTypeDate
TV Season 3Anime seriesNo official date
Beyond the SystemAnime filmNo official date
Ragnarok Season 3WebtoonNov. 5, 2026 (Korea)
ARISE OVERDRIVEGameNov. 3, 2026 (consoles)
Netflix Solo LevelingLive-action seriesNo date

Here is what the non-anime items are, plus two more that get mixed in:

  • Solo Leveling: Ragnarok: This is the sequel webtoon about Sung Suho. Its third season returned on KakaoPage on Nov. 5, 2026, with Chapters 69-71 and new artist Sanjimseung, after the previous artist left for military service. That release is Korean. As of their Nov. 1 and Nov. 4 reports, GameRant and CBR had no English date, and we found no Ragnarok anime announcement. GameRant’s Oct. 29 headline “Solo Leveling Season 3 Officially Announced In New Update” is about this webtoon, not the anime.
  • ARISE OVERDRIVE: This game reached PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 3, 2026, which explains the “new release on November 3” headlines.
  • Netflix’s Solo Leveling: The Korea Herald reports it is a live-action series, not a movie. Byeon Woo-seok plays Sung Jin-woo and Han So-hee plays Cha Hae-in. The lineup was unveiled Oct. 7, and What’s on Netflix reports that no release window was given at Netflix Korea’s Oct. 24 showcase. A June report from Korean outlet Hankyung pointed to 2027 for the series, and Netflix has not confirmed it.
  • Solo Leveling: KARMA: This is also a game, even where it gets framed as “Season 3.”
  • A-1 Pictures’ FLINT BASE: CBR’s Oct. 31 headline about the “Solo Leveling studio” and its future production plans is about this training studio, set up with CloverWorks and announced in 2025. It is not a Season 3 announcement.

What was ReAwakening, and do you need to see it?

ReAwakening was a 2024 recap film, so you do not need it to follow the story. Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- compiled Season 1 and added the first two episodes of Season 2. It screened in Japan from Nov. 29 to Dec. 12, 2024, and Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures brought it to select US and Canadian theaters starting Dec. 6, 2024.

We could not confirm a current US streaming home for it, and JustWatch’s US listing, read Nov. 6, shows no streaming or purchase option. Everything it contains is in the two TV seasons, and Beyond the System is the film that continues the story.

Where can you watch Seasons 1 and 2 while you wait?

In the US, Seasons 1 and 2 stream on Crunchyroll. Season 1 has 12 episodes and began in January 2024. Season 2, Arise from the Shadow, has 13 episodes and ran from Jan. 4 to March 29, 2025. Japan’s broadcast slot was Saturdays at 24:00, so some listings show those dates as Jan. 5 and March 30.

JustWatch’s US listing, read Nov. 6, also shows the Crunchyroll Amazon Channel and purchase on Amazon Video, Apple TV and Fandango At Home. It does not list Netflix.

How much of the webtoon is left to adapt?

The published figures are Season 2 ending around Chapter 110 of a main story that finished at Chapter 179. The Chapter 110 point comes from ComicBook.com, which also suggests restarting at Chapter 108 because the anime dropped some scenes, and The Direct gives the same rough point. These are outlets’ readings rather than an official chart, and no one has said which chapters the film will cover, so we won’t guess.

If you plan to read ahead in the US, note that Tapas ends service on March 31, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. PDT, according to Anime News Network. Readers lose access to episodes they already unlocked on Tapas. Anime News Network reported on Oct. 20 that Manta’s free Move Your Bookshelf program lets readers apply to rebuild select series on Manta if they bought at least 10 episodes on Tapas, and Manta’s eligible list includes Solo Leveling and Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. GameRant calls Tapas the main platform fans relied on for Solo Leveling. GameRant and ScreenRant reported on Oct. 6 that the series is also on Tappytoon and Manta, so check those if you plan to read past March.
