First, the big 1.0 change: work suitability is now 1–10

This is the thing that breaks every old guide. In Early Access, work suitability ran 1–4. Palworld 1.0 rescaled it to 1–10 and re-tuned every single Pal to fit the taller scale. So if a guide tells you “Anubis is Handiwork 4,” it’s reading Early-Access data — in 1.0, Anubis is Handiwork 6.

A few rules that matter for the rest of this guide:

  • No Pal is born above Level 8. Exactly eight Pals reach 8 innately — one king per job: Solenne (Handiwork), Aegidron (Mining), Dandilord (Planting), Renjishi (Kindling), Silvance (Medicine), Celesdir Noct (Lumbering), Bastigor (Cooling) and Orserk (Generating Electricity). The other four jobs cap lower — Watering, Gathering and Transporting top out at Level 7, and Farming is decided by product, not level.
  • Levels 9 and 10 are built, not caught. You get there by condensing a Pal (Pal Essence Condenser) and stacking a base aura (below). So a genuine “Level 10 worker” is a naturally high Pal you’ve invested in — which is exactly what this guide is pointing you at.
  • Levels are ordinal, not linear. A Level 8 worker is far more than twice a Level 4, and a “Level 5” in one job isn’t the same raw speed as a “Level 5” in another. Treat the numbers as tiers, not multipliers.

The winning base leans on the top two corners: a couple of top-left specialists for your heavy jobs (mining, crafting, planting), plus a top-right all-rounder like Dandilord or Silvance — or the compact, easy-to-breed Anubis, which sits right on the specialist/all-rounder line — to cover everything else.

How to actually build a “Level 10” worker

Since nothing is born above Level 8, hitting 10 is an investment:

  1. Start with a high natural Pal — ideally Level 8 in the job you care about (see the ranking above), or Level 7 if that’s the best available.
  2. Condense it to 4 stars at the Pal Essence Condenser. Each star-rank adds +1 to a work suitability (highest first), and the 4-star rank bumps all of them. A natural Level-8 specialist condensed to 4★ becomes a Level 10 worker. (1.0 also made condensing cheaper — a 4★ costs far fewer duplicates than it used to.)
  3. Add a base “aura” Pal. Around a dozen Pals have a partner skill that grants +1 to one job for every other Pal at that base (for example, an aura for Handiwork, one for Mining, one for Watering, and so on). These auras don’t stack — one carrier per job — but a Level-7 worker plus the right aura is effectively Level 8 before you even condense it.
  4. Stack work-speed passives. Separate from level, passives like Artisan (+50%), Serious (+20%) and Work Slave (+30%, at the cost of attack) multiply how fast a Pal clears its workload. They breed down, so a condensed Pal with good passives is the real endgame worker.

Things that trip people up

  • Digtoise is not a great stationed miner. At a base it’s only Mining 4. Its legendary ore output is the Drill Crusher ride skill — a massive boost that only applies while you’re riding it at an ore node. Fantastic for active farming runs; mediocre parked in a mining pit.
  • Move speed barely matters at a base. A Pal’s ride/run speed only affects how fast it walks between jobs and how far it hauls when Transporting — it does not speed up crafting or mining. Base throughput is driven by the job level, which is why our charts size Pals by their work levels, not their speed.
  • Farming/Ranch is its own thing. Ranch suitability sits at Levels 1–3 for everyone; what matters is the product (Mozzarina → milk, Sibelyx → cloth, Chikipi → eggs, Beegarde → honey), and output scales with the Pal’s partner-skill level, not its ranch level. Pick ranch Pals by the drop you need.
  • “New” isn’t always new. The Feybreak-island Pals (like Knocklem) arrived in a late Early-Access update, not the 1.0 launch — even though they’re excellent workers.
