The New York Giants are 2-1 with 14 regular-season games left, starting with Arizona at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. This is a season tracker pinned as of Saturday morning, October 3, 2026, before that game, so it reports no result, preview or pick for it. We will update the record, schedule and roster notes in place once Sunday’s final is official.

Is it “NY Giant” or “NY Giants”?

NY Giants means the New York Giants, the NFL franchise founded in 1925 that plays in the NFC East. The name is plural, so American usage takes a plural verb (the Giants are 2-1), while “a Giant” or “NY Giant” points to one player or team member. The team plays at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which it shares with the Jets. In 2026 it is in John Harbaugh’s first season as head coach, a job he took on January 20, 2026.

What is the Giants’ record in 2026?

The Giants are 2-1 after three games: 2-0 at home, 0-1 on the road and 1-0 in the NFC East. League standings data show 46 points scored and 55 allowed, a differential of -9, with a one-game winning streak. The Eagles are also 2-1, so the two teams are tied in the division as of October 3; the Cowboys and Commanders are both 1-2.

Week 1 was Sunday Night Football on NBC, and Week 2 was Monday Night Football on ESPN and ABC. In Week 3, the Giants’ own recap says undrafted rookie kicker Dominic Zvada made all four field goal tries and accounted for all 12 points, and safety Jevón Holland sealed the win with an interception on a first-and-goal pass from the 7-yard line with 17 seconds left. Holland has an interception in each of the first three games and was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for September on October 1.

When and where do the Giants play next?

The Giants host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium, with CBS carrying the game. It also streams on Paramount+ and NFL+, and WFAN (101.9 FM and 660 AM) has the radio call, according to the team’s broadcast guide. This page takes no position on the outcome, and the Week 4 row below will get its result after the final.

The Houston game is at Reliant Stadium, the building called NRG Stadium until it was renamed in August 2026. The league can move later games, so we will update this table if a time or network changes. The preseason, which does not count in the standings, ended 2-1.

Who is the Giants’ starting quarterback?

Jameis Winston is the Giants’ starting quarterback, and Harbaugh has said Winston is starting in Week 4. Across Weeks 2 and 3, box scores show Winston at 25 of 49 for 229 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

Jaxson Dart was hurt on Monday, September 21 at the Rams and went on Reserve/Injured on Thursday, September 24. Harbaugh said he will be out for the regular season at least, and on September 30 said the surgery went well while calling a playoff return a bit ambitious. National reporting that cites sources lists MCL and meniscus tears and PCL damage in his left knee; that detail is attributed to sources, not to a team announcement, so treat it as reported rather than official.

The Giants acquired J.J. McCarthy from Minnesota on Monday, September 28 for a 2027 fifth-round pick, and he wears No. 18. Harbaugh said he did not yet know whether McCarthy or Jake Haener will be the No. 2 quarterback. Haener was waived September 28 and re-signed to the practice squad September 30. Our J.J. McCarthy profile covers his background.

Which Giants players are injured or on injured reserve?

Eight Giants are on Reserve/Injured, led by quarterback Jaxson Dart and outside linebacker Brian Burns, and cornerback Korie Black is on injured reserve designated for return. The official roster as of October 3 also lists cornerbacks Paulson Adebo, Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Thaddeus Dixon, wide receivers Calvin Austin III and Gunner Olszewski, and defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris.

Harbaugh confirmed Burns tore his ACL late in the Week 3 win, and the team placed him on Reserve/Injured September 29, saying he will have surgery. For the Arizona game, the Giants’ final injury report on Friday, October 2 listed no players with a game designation. Tackle Andrew Thomas (groin) missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited Friday, and running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (knee) was limited Thursday and Friday.

What roster moves have the Giants made since September 28?

The Giants made a burst of moves between September 28 and October 2, headlined by the McCarthy trade, Burns going on injured reserve and the release of Odell Beckham Jr. Per the team’s transaction log:

  • Mon., Sept. 28: acquired McCarthy; waived Haener.
  • Tue., Sept. 29: signed receivers Braxton Berrios and Charlie Jones from the practice squad; placed Burns on Reserve/Injured; released Beckham; added lineman P.J. Mustipher to the practice squad.
  • Wed., Sept. 30: re-signed Haener to the practice squad.
  • Thu., Oct. 1: signed outside linebacker Jihad Ward from the Vikings’ practice squad; added lineman Josh Tupou to the practice squad.
  • Fri., Oct. 2: added lineman Kendrick Green to the practice squad and released Darian Kinnard from it.

Our Odell Beckham Jr. release report covers that move, and no new team had been reported for him as of October 3.

How current is this page?

This tracker is pinned to Saturday morning, October 3, 2026, and it goes stale when the Giants-Cardinals game ends on Sunday, October 4. After the final we will update the record, points scored and allowed, the NFC East line and the Week 4 row. We will then refresh it after each Giants game (next: Sunday, October 11, at Washington) and whenever roster news changes. For more on the quarterback room, the J.J. McCarthy profile is the best next read.

How we verified this

Results and record. Checked against league box-score and standings data and the team’s own schedule and game recaps, which agree: Giants 28-20 over Dallas (September 13), 6-28 at the Rams (September 21) and 12-7 over Tennessee (September 27). The 2-1 record, the 2-0 home and 0-1 road splits, the 1-0 division record and the 46-55 points tally follow from those scores. The Giants and Eagles are both 2-1, so we say they are tied and make no tiebreaker or playoff-seeding claim.

Schedule and TV. Every date, opponent, time and network matches between the league data feed and the team’s official schedule page. The Week 4 kickoff (1:00 p.m. ET), CBS and Paramount+ coverage and WFAN radio carriage were confirmed on the team’s broadcast guide. The team lists Week 18’s date, time and network as TBD, and Week 16 as ESPN.

Houston stadium name. The league data feed and the team’s schedule page both call the Houston venue Reliant Stadium. The Texans’ own site and the stadium operator’s site now use that name as well, and local news coverage reports the change from NRG Stadium took effect in August 2026 (announced April 15, 2026). We used Reliant Stadium and noted the former name.

Roster and injuries. Built from the team’s official roster page and transaction log, read on Saturday morning, October 3, with no Saturday moves posted yet. A widely used third-party roster feed is stale (it still lists Beckham as active) and was not used. Where automated page summaries conflicted with the team’s raw text, such as the Friday injury report wording, we followed the raw text: no game designations, with Andrew Thomas limited.

Quarterback injuries. Dart’s Reserve/Injured date and Harbaugh’s comments (out for the regular season at least; surgery went well; a playoff return a bit ambitious) are attributed to the team and its coach. The ligament details (MCL, meniscus, PCL) come from national reporting that cites sources, and summaries of that reporting conflicted on the surgery date, so we attribute the detail and give no surgery date or recovery timeline. Burns’s torn ACL is as confirmed by Harbaugh and the team.

Not independently re-checked. The 1925 founding year and Harbaugh’s January 20, 2026 hiring date are standard public facts that match our earlier reports on the team.

Still moving at write time. This page is pinned to Saturday morning, October 3, 2026. Sunday’s Giants-Cardinals game will change the record, the NFC East line and the points totals. The No. 2 quarterback, game-day inactives and any Sunday practice-squad elevations were undecided or unknown.
