NFL Schedule This Week: Every Week 1 Game, Time and Channel
- There are no NFL games in the first week of September. The season opens on Wednesday 9 September.
- Week 1 runs 9–14 September and has 16 games.
- The opener is Patriots at Seahawks, 8:20pm ET on Wednesday — a rematch of Super Bowl LX, which Seattle won 29–13.
- It is only the second time in the Super Bowl era that a season has started on a Wednesday.
- The Thursday game, 49ers at Rams, is on Netflix.
- Thirteen of the sixteen games are on Sunday 13 September: eight at 1:00pm ET, four at 4:25pm and one at night.
- FOX and CBS carry 12 of the 16 between them. The opener is on NBC and Peacock at the same time, not one or the other.
There is no NFL this week. The season opens on Wednesday 9 September — and it opens on a Wednesday, which has happened once before in the Super Bowl era.

When the season actually starts
Wednesday 9 September, 8:20pm ET: New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks, at Lumen Field.
Two things make that unusual.
It is a Wednesday. Seasons start on Thursday. This is only the second Wednesday opener of the Super Bowl era.
It is a Super Bowl rematch. These two met in Super Bowl LX on 8 February 2026, and Seattle won 29–13. The season begins with the losing side going back to the winner’s stadium.

The Sunday night game is the season debut of Sunday Night Football, and per NBC Sports it carries on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo.

FOX and CBS have three quarters of the week between them, all of it on Sunday afternoon.
Netflix has the Thursday game — 49ers at Rams. If you are used to Thursday football living elsewhere, that is the one to note.
One caveat that matters more than the table suggests: FOX and CBS split the Sunday afternoon window regionally. Which 1:00pm game you actually see depends on your market, not on this list. The table says who holds the rights; your local listing says what you will get.
A note on the NFL’s own schedule page
If you go to the league’s own Week 1 page for the channel, it will tell you GamePass — for all sixteen games. That is the NFL’s own streaming product, and it is what the page displays regardless of which network is actually airing a given game.
It is accurate in its own way and useless as a TV guide, which is why the channels above come from elsewhere and were checked twice.

Nothing this week. Wednesday 9 September, Patriots at Seahawks, NBC and Peacock, 8:20pm ET.
Then Netflix on Thursday, thirteen games on Sunday split between FOX and CBS, and Broncos at Chiefs on ESPN to close it out on Monday night.
