New Balance 204L: Where to Buy, Best Prices and Sales (US and UK)
Update log (1)
- — Prices were read from New Balance's own US and UK sites on 14 August 2026. On that day the UK site had six adult 204L colourways at 40% off while the US site had none in adult sizes. Mid-August is a seasonal changeover, so both sets of prices can move quickly.

- The two markets are in completely different places this week. On New Balance’s US site the adult 204L is $119.99 with no reduction anywhere in adult sizes; on its UK site six adult colourways are marked 40% off, at £66 from £110 and £72 from £120.
- The only US discounts are in children’s sizes: Big Kids at $75.99 from $94.99, and Little Kids at $67.99 from $89.99.
- Check the model letter before you buy. The 204V is a different, laceless shoe and it comes up in the same search results as the 204L. So does the AURALEE x New Balance 204L, which sits at £140 rather than £110.
- Do not compare the dollar and pound figures. UK prices include VAT and US prices do not include sales tax, which is added at checkout and varies by state. The comparison that does travel is the size of the discount.
The New Balance 204L costs $119.99 in the United States and £110 or £120 in the United Kingdom — and this week those two markets are not behaving the same way at all. On New Balance’s UK site, six adult colourways are marked 40% off. On its US site, not one adult pair is reduced.
Both figures were read from New Balance’s own shops on 14 August 2026. Below is what each market is charging, where the discounts actually are, and the two products that will show up in your search that are not the shoe you are looking for.
What is the New Balance 204L, and how is it different from the 204V?
The 204L is New Balance’s laced lifestyle silhouette, introduced in July 2025. The 204V is a separate, laceless shoe. They share a number and they share search results, which is the single easiest way to buy the wrong one.
A third listing worth knowing about is the AURALEE x New Balance 204L, a collaboration that sits at a higher price than the standard shoe. If a 204L looks unexpectedly expensive, check whether it is the collab before assuming the price has gone up.
How much does the New Balance 204L cost in the US?
$119.99 for adult sizes, and nothing in adult sizes is discounted. The reductions on New Balance’s US site are all in children’s sizing.
| Version | Price |
|---|---|
| 204L adult | $119.99 |
| Big Kids (3.5–7) | $75.99, was $94.99 |
| Little Kids (10.5–3) | $67.99, was $89.99 |
| Little Kids bungee | $89.99 |
That is a 20% cut on the Big Kids pair and 24% on the Little Kids one. US prices exclude sales tax, which is added at checkout and varies by state.
How much does the 204L cost in the UK?
£110 or £120 depending on the colourway — and six colourways are currently 40% off.
| Listing | Price |
|---|---|
| 204L, standard | £110.00 |
| 204L, higher tier | £120.00 |
| 204L on sale | £66.00, was £110.00 |
| 204L on sale | £72.00, was £120.00 |
| AURALEE x 204L | £140.00 |
UK prices include VAT. The two sale lines are the interesting ones: five colourways at £66 and one at £72, all at 40% off, sitting alongside thirteen colourways still at full price.
Where are the discounts right now?
In the UK, on adult pairs. In the US, only on children’s sizes. That is the whole answer, and it is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly.
| Market | Adult | Kids |
|---|---|---|
| US | None | 20–24% off |
| UK | 40% off, 6 colourways | — |
Mid-August is a seasonal changeover in both countries, when spring and summer colourways get cleared to make room for autumn stock. What today’s prices show is that the clearing is happening on a different schedule in each market — and the UK is further into it.
Because these are colourway-level markdowns rather than a site-wide sale, the discounted pairs are specific colours, not a blanket 40% off everything called a 204L. Which colours are reduced changes as stock clears.
Where can you buy the New Balance 204L?
New Balance’s own site in your country is the reference point, and it is where these prices came from. Both the US and UK stores carry the full colourway range, including the reduced ones.
Beyond the brand’s own shop, the 204L is carried by the usual national sports and lifestyle retailers in both markets, and by sneaker specialists. We have not printed their prices here, because we could only verify New Balance’s own on the day — and a price we have not read is not a price we will quote.
Two things to avoid. Resale marketplaces list the 204L, but those are individual sellers’ asking prices, not retail, and they move daily. And a price on a comparison page is not a price at a shop — click through to the retailer before believing it.
Why can’t you compare the US and UK prices directly?
Because they are not the same kind of number. UK shelf prices include VAT. US prices exclude sales tax, which is added at the till and varies by state.
Convert $119.99 into pounds and you get a figure no British shopper is ever quoted; convert £110 into dollars and you get one no American is quoted either. The two markets are priced separately by the brand, not derived from an exchange rate.
What does travel across the border is the percentage. A 40% reduction is 40% in either currency, and that is the comparison this article makes.
What this guide does not tell you
Whether your size is in stock. These are colourway prices read on one day. Sizes sell out independently, and the reduced colours are the ones most likely to go first.
It does not tell you what third-party retailers charge, because we did not read their pages. It does not price the resale market, on principle. And it does not tell you whether the US will follow the UK into markdowns or the UK sale will end — those are guesses about future prices, and this site does not publish them.
How we verified this
Every price here was read from New Balance’s own store in each market, on 14 August 2026. The US figures come from the US site and the UK figures from the UK site, each confirmed by the site identifier the shop itself uses — a US-only catalogue and a UK-only one. We have not taken either market’s price from a third-party listing or a price-comparison page.
No currency conversion appears anywhere in this article, and that is deliberate. UK shelf prices include VAT; US prices exclude sales tax, which is added at checkout and differs by state. Converting one into the other produces a number no shopper in either country is ever quoted. What can be compared across markets is the discount percentage, because that is the same arithmetic in both.
We nearly missed the UK sale entirely. The first pull of the UK catalogue returned 24 listings and showed only full prices. Pulling the full 48 revealed six reduced colourways. Because that could equally have hidden markdowns on the US side, we re-pulled the US catalogue at the same depth before concluding that the US has no adult reduction — it returned 48 listings, and the only reductions were in kids’ sizes.
Two products in these results are not the shoe most people are searching for. The 204V is a separate laceless model, and the AURALEE x New Balance 204L is a collaboration at a higher price. Both appear in a search for “204L”, and neither is priced like the standard shoe.
We have not printed resale-market prices. The 204L appears on marketplace platforms where prices are set by individual sellers and move daily; a figure taken from one today would be wrong by the time you read it, and it is not a retail price.
Stock is not the same as price. These are catalogue prices for colourways that were listed on the day. Individual sizes sell out independently of the listing, so a price shown here is what the colourway costs, not a guarantee that your size is available in it.
