Where to Buy Mountain Dew Pitch Black: UK Booker Exclusive First, Nationwide From November

- 🔑 Mountain Dew Pitch Black is a new citrus grape-flavoured Mountain Dew with dark purple liquid and space-inspired packaging. UK trade press reports it is available exclusively through the wholesaler Booker from October 2026, with a national rollout from November 2026. No other retailer has been named.
- Booker is a Tesco-owned wholesale distributor that supplies shops and caterers, and the launch coverage is written for shopkeepers. None of the articles says shoppers can buy it at Booker, so we say ‘available through Booker’, not ‘on sale at Booker’. The exact start date has not been published.
- Pitch Black comes in 500ml price-marked packs, in cases of 12. Two of the four trade titles we read in full put the on-pack price at £1.75, and the other two give none. We have not seen the price confirmed in Carlsberg Britvic’s own materials, so treat it as reported.
- No caffeine, sugar or calorie figures were published in any article we read, and no Zero Sugar version has been mentioned. Carlsberg Britvic, which sells Mountain Dew in the UK, says brand sales are up over 11.5% year on year, a company claim we could not check.
- This is a UK launch only. As of 3 October 2026 we found no announcement of a US release, date or price. Pitch Black has a separate US history, including a 2011 return, a 2016 fan vote and a 2024 fountain-only run, but that is background, not current availability.
Mountain Dew Pitch Black, a new citrus grape-flavoured drink, is available exclusively through the wholesaler Booker from October 2026, with a national UK rollout planned from November 2026. That is the whole confirmed picture as of 3 October 2026: no other shop has been named, and this is a UK launch only.
The launch details below come from UK trade press written for shopkeepers, so we have stuck to what it actually says.
What is Mountain Dew Pitch Black in the UK?
It is a new citrus grape-flavoured Mountain Dew with a dark purple colour and space-inspired packaging. Trade coverage on 1 and 2 October 2026 presents it as a launch from Carlsberg Britvic, which sells Mountain Dew in the UK. Mountain Dew itself is a PepsiCo brand.
Carlsberg Britvic’s brand director for carbonates, David Laidler, said the company is confident the flavour will excite existing fans and bring new drinkers to the brand, and that Mountain Dew sales are “up over 11.5% year on year”. One trade title, citing Nielsen data, puts the brand at £32.6m in retail sales value. Those are company and trade-data claims, and we have not checked them.

Where can you buy Mountain Dew Pitch Black in the UK?
Through Booker, according to the trade press, but that does not mean you can walk in and buy a bottle. Booker is a Tesco-owned wholesale distributor that supplies shops and catering businesses, and the launch coverage is aimed at retailers. None of the articles we read says the public can buy Pitch Black there, which is why we write “available through Booker” and not “on sale at Booker”.
A shop that buys its stock from Booker may choose to list it, but no article names one. The start date is also loosely worded: the articles say “from October”, “from this month” and “now”, and no exact day has been published.
When does Mountain Dew Pitch Black go on sale nationally?
From November 2026, according to the launch announcement as reported by trade titles. The rollout is described as national, but none of the articles names a supermarket, convenience chain or online retailer.
So we cannot yet tell you which chains will take it. A planned rollout is a plan, not a guarantee, and we will not guess at shop names before they are announced.
How much does Mountain Dew Pitch Black cost?
Two trade titles report that the 500ml packs are price-marked at £1.75. A price-marked pack has the selling price printed on the pack itself. The other two titles we read in full give no price, and we did not find the figure in Carlsberg Britvic’s own materials.
Treat £1.75 as the reported on-pack price, not a promise of what every shop will charge. We have not seen shelf prices, because trade coverage only began on 1 October 2026.
Is there a Zero Sugar version, and what is in it?
Nobody has said, and no nutrition figures have been published. None of the four articles gives caffeine, sugar or calorie numbers, and none mentions a Zero Sugar version. If you need those details, check the label once it is on shelves rather than assuming it matches any US or overseas version.
Is Mountain Dew Pitch Black coming to the US?
No US release has been announced, as far as we could find on 3 October 2026. The Booker launch is a UK one, so nothing here implies US shelves, dates or prices.
Pitch Black does have a US past, which is background rather than availability. According to Wikipedia’s history of the drink, Mountain Dew announced on 7 January 2011 that Pitch Black would return that May, it won a fan vote against Baja Blast announced on 18 July 2016, and it was discontinued by early 2020. US food sites reported in November 2022 that it would come back in January 2023, and a US snack and drink site reported in September 2024 that it had returned only as a fountain drink at Speedway and 7-Eleven, with no cans or bottles. We have not confirmed whether that run continues.
What should shoppers do in the meantime?
Wait for the November 2026 rollout and check labels and shelves rather than assuming a shop has it. Booker is the only route the trade press names, and it is a trade route.

How we verified this
Four UK trade articles, read in full, all dated 1 or 2 October 2026. A convenience-retail trade site (which credits Carlsberg Britvic as its source), a retail-news trade site, a Scottish grocery trade title and a Scottish local-retailer magazine. A fifth site republished the retail-news wording almost word for word. They agree on the flavour, the Booker exclusivity, the November 2026 rollout, the 500ml price-marked packs and the cases of 12. They are working from the same company announcement, so they confirm the wording rather than independently reporting the launch.
We did not reach any primary source. Carlsberg Britvic’s own site did not load for us, Mountain Dew’s site blocks automated access, and we found no PepsiCo release. Everything about the UK launch is therefore as reported by trade press, and the page says so.
One figure conflicts across sources, and we followed the ones that give a number. Two of the four titles state a £1.75 price-marked price; the other two mention no price at all. We report £1.75 as what those two titles say, not as a confirmed shelf price. Those two titles also give a £32.6m retail sales value for the brand, one of them citing Nielsen data; we treat that as a trade claim.
Start-date wording differs. The articles say “from October”, “from this month” and “now”. No exact day has been published, so none is given here.
Booker was described from Wikipedia, not from Booker. Booker’s own site blocked automated access, so the “wholesale distributor, owned by Tesco since 2018” description comes from Wikipedia, and we have not read Booker’s own customer terms. That is why the page does not tell readers they can buy it there.
Company naming is deliberately neutral. Mountain Dew is a PepsiCo brand (per Wikipedia). One trade title calls Carlsberg Britvic the UK “brand owner”; we have not seen the licensing terms, so we describe it as the company that sells Mountain Dew in the UK.
The US history is background and partly headline-level. The 2011 return, the July 2016 fan vote and the discontinuation by early 2020 come from Wikipedia. The November 2022 reports of a January 2023 return were read as headlines only. The September 2024 fountain-only run was read in full on a US snack and drink site. We found no sign of a current US release, but mountaindew.com could not be checked, so that is an absence of evidence, not a denial.
Nothing on this page is a forecast. The November rollout is the company’s stated plan as reported by trade press, not our prediction, and no nutrition or price data has been estimated. Still moving at write time: the national rollout, retailer names and any shelf price.
