Hell Let Loose: Vietnam: Where to Buy, Price and Editions in 2026

Standard is $39.99, Deluxe is $59.99, and on PC both are 10% cheaper than that right now. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam unlocks at 4pm UTC on 13 August 2026 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — and at the time of writing Steam still had it flagged as unreleased, with a pre-purchase discount that the PlayStation Store is not matching.

It is made by Expression Games and published by Team17, and the first thing worth knowing is what it is not.

Do I need the original Hell Let Loose?

No. This is a standalone game. It does not install inside the World War II original, it does not require you to own it, and it is not an expansion pack with a new theatre bolted on. Expression Games set up a separate team for it specifically so that the original keeps its own development support.

That matters for the price too. You are not paying $39.99 for a map pack on top of a game you already own — $39.99 is the whole thing.

What does it cost, and where is it cheapest?

On PC, Steam is 10% under list in both the US and the UK. On PlayStation, there is no discount at all. These were the prices on 13 August 2026, taken from Steam’s own store API with the region set explicitly and from the PlayStation Store’s US listing.

List prices are $39.99 and $59.99 in the US, £34.99 and £54.99 in the UK. So on PC you are currently saving $4.00 on Standard and $6.00 on Deluxe, or £3.50 and £5.50 — and a console buyer is paying full price for the same game on the same day.

One warning about checking this yourself: Steam store pages are priced by the IP address asking, not by the reader. Our first attempt at reading the page came back in New Taiwan dollars. If you want your own price, open the store in your own browser while signed in, or the numbers you see are somebody else’s.

What is the difference between the Standard and Deluxe editions?

Twenty dollars of uniforms, and you do not get them all at once. Every storefront describes the Deluxe difference as the 2026 Field Supplies — cosmetic uniform packs — rather than as maps, weapons or modes.

Two of the three are scheduled rather than delivered. If you buy Deluxe today you are paying now for content that arrives across the rest of the year, which is a perfectly normal season-pass arrangement but is not the same as buying a bigger box.

What is the pre-order bonus, and can I still get it?

The US Army Boat Crew uniform, with either edition, for orders placed before release day — which is today. It is not exclusive to Deluxe; Standard buyers who pre-ordered get it too.

Here is the trap worth slowing down for. The pre-order bonus is the US Army Boat Crew uniform. The first Deluxe pack is the NVA Boat Crew uniform. Two nearly identical names attached to two different things: one is a timing reward that closes when the game unlocks, the other is edition content that keeps arriving whenever you buy. If you read a listing that mentions “the Boat Crew uniform” without a faction in front of it, that sentence has not told you which one you are getting.

Since the unlock is today, the pre-order window is effectively closing as you read this. Anyone buying after it goes live should expect the Deluxe packs, not the pre-order uniform.

Which platforms is it on, and is there crossplay?

PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — and yes, full crossplay, which is a first for this series. On PC it is on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Steam lists it as Windows only; there is no Mac or Linux build.

Crossplay is the detail most likely to be wrong wherever you read it. Team17’s developer Q&A of 31 July 2026 describes full cross-platform play between PC, PS5 and Xbox at launch, with server owners able to set a server to cross-platform, PC-only or console-only, and full crossplay as the default. Steam’s own store page carries the Cross-Platform Multiplayer tag. Wikipedia’s article currently says crossplay is not planned at launch, which does not match the developer.

The practical consequence: you can buy on whichever platform you like and still play with your group, but check the server browser labels, because a PC-only or console-only server will filter you out.

Is there a physical edition?

Yes for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but treat any date you see with suspicion. Boxed editions have been part of the plan throughout, distributed by Fireshine Games rather than sold directly by Team17.

The date circulating everywhere is 4 August 2026 — which is nine days before the digital launch, which should immediately look wrong. It looks wrong because it is a leftover: the game was originally due on 18 June, was delayed in early June after the PC open beta, and the physical date has been repeated ever since from articles written against the old schedule. We could not open a retailer listing to confirm a current date.

So: a boxed version exists, and if you want one, check the actual retailer’s page for its shipping date rather than any published guide, this one included.

What is the game itself?

50 versus 50, in the same shape as the original. Steam’s own description sets it at expansive 50v50 battles built around teamwork and combined arms, which is the format the series is known for, moved from Normandy to Vietnam with the vehicles and terrain that implies.

It was delayed from 18 June to 13 August after the PC open beta at the end of May, with the developers citing player feedback on weapon balance, jungle visibility and performance. Two and a half months is a substantial delay to take on feedback rather than on a marketing calendar, which is at least a point in its favour on launch day.
