GTA Online Kortz Center Heist: Release Date, Payout, Free Rewards and the Special Offer

Key takeaways
  • The Kortz Center Heist is real and officially announced, but it is not live yet — Rockstar’s announcement on 9 July 2026 dates it to Tuesday 14 July 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
  • Nobody knows the payout. Rockstar has published no take, no hard-mode figure, no Elite Challenge bonus and no crew split. Any specific GTA$ payout number you see before 14 July is invented.
  • The GTA$500,000 and GTA$1,000,000 being widely quoted are NOT the heist’s payout. They are login-promo bonuses from the Fine Art Collector programme, and you have to claim them before Monday 13 July.
  • To run the heist you will need the new Art Studio extension on a Mansion property. Mansion owners get a GTA$1,000,000 discount on that extension, delivered when the heist launches.

Rockstar has finally given GTA Online a proper new heist. The Kortz Center Heist was announced on 9 July 2026 and goes live on Tuesday 14 July 2026 — an art robbery staged at the Kortz Center, the cultural institute perched above Pacific Bluffs.

Two things are worth saying immediately, because most coverage is getting them wrong. The heist is not out yet, and Rockstar has not revealed a single payout figure. The GTA$500,000 and GTA$1,000,000 being passed around are something else entirely — and one of them expires on Monday. Everything below was checked on 10 July 2026, before launch.

Note the day. GTA Online’s weekly reset normally falls on a Thursday, but this update drops mid-week on a Tuesday, which is also why the current event window ends early (more on that below).

Rockstar has not confirmed a launch time. Community trackers expect the usual early-morning rollout, but treat any specific clock time as an estimate. Rockstar’s announcement also did not enumerate last-gen platforms — some fan sites list PS4 and Xbox One, but that is not confirmed, so do not count on it.

What is the Kortz Center Heist?

It is a robbery of the Kortz Center’s art collection. To scope the target and choose an approach, you need a Mansion — bought through Prix Luxury Real Estate — fitted with the new Art Studio extension. The Art Studio is the actual gate: no Art Studio, no heist.

Rockstar has not published the price of the Mansion or of the Art Studio extension. Numbers circulating for both are community estimates, not official. Outlets have framed this as GTA Online’s first major new heist in around six years, which is roughly right if you count from the Cayo Perico era.

The payout: what Rockstar has actually said

Nothing. That is the whole answer, and it is worth being blunt about it.

FigureStatus
Total take / potNot published
Normal vs hard-mode takeNot published
Elite Challenge bonusNot published
First-time completion bonusNot published
Leader’s cut / crew splitNot published
Setup costs and feesNot published

The heist is not playable until 14 July, so there is no official figure and no community figure derived from actually running it. Any specific payout number published before launch day is fabricated. Fan databases list the payout and Elite Challenge fields as “coming soon,” which is the honest position.

The GTA$1,000,000 that is not the payout

Here is where the confusion comes from. Rockstar’s announcement does contain large GTA$ figures — three of them — and none is the heist’s take:

AmountWhat it actually is
GTA$500,000A login bonus for playing during the promo, paid within 72 hours
GTA$1,000,000A bonus for completing any existing heist during the promo, paid within 72 hours
GTA$1,000,000A discount on the Art Studio extension, for Mansion owners

That third one is a discount, not income. The first two are promotional payments for logging in and for playing heists you already own. If you see a headline saying the Kortz Center Heist “pays GTA$1 million,” it has misread the announcement.

Free rewards: the Fine Art Collector programme

This is the part that actually matters this week, because it ends on Monday 13 July. The rewards are Rockstar’s own, and they tier by what you do.

RewardWhat you must doDeadline
GTA$500,000 + free Benefactor Turreted LimoSimply log in and play13 July (paid within 72h)
GTA$1,000,000 + NOOSE OutfitComplete any heist13 July (paid within 72h)
Free Annihilator Stealth, a Kortz Center Sculpture, a unique painting, and a GTA$1,000,000 discount on the Art StudioOwn a MansionAround launch, 14 July (trackers differ on when the Annihilator Stealth lands)

The logic is obvious once you see it: Rockstar is paying you to buy a Mansion before the heist arrives. If you intend to run the Kortz Center Heist at all, owning a Mansion before Monday is worth GTA$1,000,000 off the extension you are required to buy anyway.

A separate GTA+ perk is also in play: subscribers are reported to get the new Grotti Veleno GT free from 14 July, roughly a week before it goes on general sale. Rockstar’s GTA+ Mansion discount is a current-period benefit rather than a permanent one — GTA+ perks rotate, so do not assume it will still be there next month.

This week’s special offers — they expire Monday 13 July

The current event window runs 9–13 July 2026. It is a continuation of the previous week’s bonuses, held over until the heist drops, and it ends Monday rather than the usual Thursday. Everything in this section is community-reported from the weekly-update trackers rather than stated in Rockstar’s announcement, and all of it is gone on 14 July.

Bonus GTA$ and RP

2x GTA$, RP & research progressBunker Research Missions
2x GTA$ & RPAmmu-Nation Contract Missions

These are temporary event multipliers. They revert to normal at the Monday reset — they are not the standing rates.

Free and discounted

  • Free: the Lago Zancudo Bunker, and free High-End Garages
  • Free: the Lady Liberty Bucket Hat (login reward)
  • 70% off: Mobile Operations Center, Benefactor Terrorbyte, B-11 Strikeforce, Buckingham Luxor, Mammoth Avenger, RM-10 Bombushka, RO-86 Alkonost
  • Podium vehicle: Ocelot Jugular · Prize Ride: Lampadati Viseris

There is also a weekly challenge paying GTA$100,000 plus the Blue Jock Cranley Jumpsuit. Trackers disagree on the qualifying task — some say complete three Bunker Research Missions, others say win two races — so check the in-game challenge screen rather than trusting either.

The 40% Shark Card bonus

Separately, and with real money involved: Rockstar is running a 40% bonus GTA$ offer on Shark Card purchases. Rockstar’s own posting states the offer ends 22 July. A later purchase-by deadline is reported as either 5 or 6 August depending on the outlet, with Rockstar’s support pages pointing to 6 August — so if you are buying, do it well before the 22nd rather than relying on the later date.

Whether the 40% replaces or stacks with the usual GTA+ bonus is genuinely unclear; sources contradict each other. Check the confirmation screen before you pay.

What to do before Monday

If you take nothing else from this: the free money has a deadline and the heist does not.

  1. Log in before Monday 13 July — that alone is GTA$500,000 and a free Turreted Limo.
  2. Run any heist you already own before Monday — GTA$1,000,000 and the NOOSE Outfit.
  3. If you plan to play the Kortz Center Heist, buy a Mansion before Monday — the GTA$1,000,000 discount applies to the Art Studio you will be forced to buy.
  4. Wait for the payout numbers. They arrive on 14 July, when people can actually run it.

When is the Kortz Center Heist released?

Tuesday 14 July 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Rockstar announced it on 9 July 2026. It is not playable before then.

What is the Kortz Center Heist payout?

Unknown. Rockstar has published no take, hard-mode figure, Elite Challenge bonus or crew split, and the heist cannot be played until 14 July, so no reliable community figure exists either. The GTA$500,000 and GTA$1,000,000 in circulation are login-promo bonuses, not the heist’s payout.

What do you need to start the Kortz Center Heist?

A Mansion property from Prix Luxury Real Estate, fitted with the new Art Studio extension. The Art Studio is what lets you scope the Kortz Center and pick an approach.

What are the free GTA Online rewards right now?

Through Monday 13 July: GTA$500,000 and a Benefactor Turreted Limo just for logging in, plus GTA$1,000,000 and the NOOSE Outfit for completing any heist. Mansion owners also receive an Annihilator Stealth, a sculpture, a painting and a GTA$1,000,000 discount on the Art Studio when the heist launches.

When does this week’s GTA Online event end?

Monday 13 July 2026 — a day earlier than the usual Thursday reset, because the Kortz Center Heist launches on Tuesday 14 July.
