Key takeaways
  • Three fall collections landed inside a fortnight: ORLY’s Fall Into Wonder on 1 August, Olive & June’s six shades on 3 August, and Holo Taco’s Spice Rack on 14 August.
  • There is no single fall 2026 colour. ORLY went jewel-toned — eggplant, orchid, indigo, navy. Holo Taco went warm spice — maple brown, copper, sage. Olive & June split the difference and kept two pale neutrals in the line-up.
  • Almost nothing here is pumpkin orange. Across all 19 new shades, not one is the burnt-orange autumn cliché.
  • Every one of the three sets is priced at exactly the sum of its individual bottles. Olive & June’s is $60 for six $10 polishes; ORLY’s is $63 for six at $10.50; Holo Taco’s is $105.50 for seven that add to $105.50.
  • What does create a saving is a sale, and two of the three are running one — Olive & June’s set at $54 and Holo Taco’s at $96, while ORLY’s sits at full price.
  • The single most on-brief bottle is ORLY’s Elysian Fields, a moss green crème whose own product page says to transition into autumn with it. It is $10.50 and it is not part of any set.

Three nail brands launched their autumn collections inside a fortnight this month, and the striking thing is how little they agree with each other. ORLY went to eggplant and indigo. Holo Taco went to maple and copper. Olive & June kept two pale neutrals in a collection labelled fall.

So there is no single answer to what end-of-summer nails look like in 2026. There are three, they are all buyable now, and every shade below comes with the brand’s own description of the colour rather than mine.

What are the fall 2026 nail colours?

Nineteen new shades across three collections, and they fall into families that barely overlap.

CollectionLandedShades
ORLY — Fall Into Wonder1 Aug6 at $10.50
Olive & June — Fall 20263 Aug6 at $10.00
Holo Taco — Spice Rack14 Aug7 at $14–$16.50

One absence is worth naming. Across all nineteen, not one is the burnt-orange or pumpkin shade that turns up on every autumn mood board. The closest any brand gets is a copper chrome, which is a metallic rather than the flat spiced orange the cliché calls for.

Which shades actually transition from summer?

The ones that are not dark. That sounds obvious, but it is the part most seasonal round-ups skip, because “transition” gets used to mean “go darker immediately”.

Olive & June is the clearest case. Three of its six new shades are deep — a beet red, a deep teal and a cool deep violet — but the other three are not. Lowkey Perfect is a milky sheer grey-mauve, Neutral Territory is a warm blush grey, and Unbothered Energy is a light olive green. Those three sit comfortably on a hand in late August and still look right in October, which is what a transition shade actually has to do.

If you want one bottle that is explicitly built for this moment, ORLY sells it separately from any collection: Elysian Fields, a moss green crème at $10.50, whose own product page asks whether you are looking for a shade to get ready for the change of seasons and tells you to transition into autumn with it. It went up on 29 July, ahead of the collections.

What is in Olive & June’s fall collection?

Six shades, published on 3 August, each available as a $10 long-lasting polish or a $12 gel. These are the brand’s own colour descriptions:

ShadeColourNote
Actually DramaticDeep purple-red beet
Not Quiet LuxuryDeep teal blue-green
Purse Full of PolishDusty deep violetLimited edition
Unbothered EnergyLight olive green
Neutral TerritoryWarm blush grey
Lowkey PerfectMilky sheer grey-mauve

Purse Full of Polish is the one to move on if you want it, because it is the only shade in the six that the brand flags as limited edition.

The $2 between the polish and the gel is worth a thought rather than a reflex. Olive & June sells the gel versions of the same six shades at $12, and its own claim for them is up to 21 days of wear — so the premium is roughly a fifth more for something like double the life, provided you already own a lamp.

What is in ORLY’s Fall Into Wonder collection?

Six crèmes and jellies at $10.50 each, published on 1 August. ORLY describes the collection as stained glass hues and velvet nights, and the shade list backs that up — this is the jewel-toned end of autumn, with no brown in it at all.

What is in Holo Taco’s Spice Rack collection?

Seven shades published on 14 August, and the only genuinely warm autumn palette of the three. The brand’s framing is a spice rack, and the colours follow it literally.

What finishes are brands pushing this season?

Finish is doing more work than colour this autumn, and it is the part of “design” that can actually be checked, because brands state it on the bottle.

The clearest pattern is layering. Holo Taco’s Sugar Dust Taco is a topper rather than a colour — warm iridescent pigment and crushed holo meant to go over something else — which means the collection is sold as seven bottles but designed as six colours plus a modifier.

Magnetic finishes are the other one to note. Brûlée Me Away pulls a gold cat-eye through a brown sugar base, which is a single-bottle effect that reads as nail art from a distance. And chrome turns up twice in the same collection, in copper and in sage.

ORLY’s contribution is jelly-with-flakes: Midnight Stars suspends gold flakes in navy, Set On Fire puts iridescent flakes in cherry red. Both are finishes that do something under light rather than sitting flat.

Is the set cheaper than buying single bottles?

No — and this is worth checking before you assume, because all three collections are sold as sets and none of the three sets is a discount.

BrandSet priceBottles add up to
Olive & June$60.00$60.00
ORLY$63.00$63.00
Holo Taco$105.50$105.50

Read those two columns against each other: identical, to the cent, in every case. The difference is zero three times out of three. The set buys you convenience and the full range, not a bulk price.

What does create a saving is a sale on the set, and two are running one as this is written: Olive & June’s six-shade set at $54 against $60, and Holo Taco’s Spice Rack at $96 against $105.50. The individual bottles are not discounted, so while those sales last, the sets genuinely are cheaper. ORLY’s is at full price.

What should you buy first if you only want one?

Match the bottle to what you already wear rather than to the season.

If your summer manicure was pale, Lowkey Perfect at $10 is the smallest step — a milky sheer that changes the temperature of a hand without committing to a dark nail. If it was bright, Set On Fire at $10.50 keeps the intensity and moves it warmer. If you want the one that looks most like autumn on the shelf, Maple Sugar Glaze at $15 is the brown jelly the whole Spice Rack is built around.

And if you want the shade the industry itself is calling a transition colour, that remains ORLY’s Elysian Fields at $10.50 — the only bottle in this entire piece whose own marketing copy uses the word.

How we verified this
Every shade, price and description here was read from the brand’s own product feed, and each store was proved to discriminate before use. A real path returns 200 with content; an invented path on the same host returns a genuine 404. Colour descriptions are the brands’ own words, not mine. ✅ The collections were identified by publish date and by the brands’ own tags, not by looking at pictures. Olive & June tags its autumn intake fall26; the other two name their collections outright. scripts/build_fall_nails_2026.py re-checks all 19 shades by name, brand and list price, and fails if any of them moves. 🔴 The set-equals-parts finding is arithmetic, not an impression. The script sums each collection’s individual bottles and asserts the total matches the set price to the cent. All three do, exactly. If a brand repriced tomorrow, the check would fail rather than the page quietly misleading you. 🔴 A single ?limit=250 call would have hidden most of this. Every one of these stores returns exactly 250 products on the first page, which reads as a total and is a cap — Olive & June actually lists 1,943. The collector paginates and the shade counts come from the full catalogue. ⚠️ Recency is not seasonality, and one release proves it. Mooncat’s Planet Nyarr set landed on 21 August, inside the same window, and is a glow-in-the-dark novelty collection with no autumn tag at all. It is excluded for that reason rather than included because it is new. ⚠️ “Designs” here means finishes, because that is what can be checked. Brands publish what a polish does — jelly, chrome, magnetic, crushed holo — and those are reported. What nail artists will do with them this season is not something this page claims to know. ⚠️ Sale prices were true when checked and are the first thing to change. List prices are the durable figure; treat the discounts as a snapshot.
