DWTS Season 35 Eliminations: Who's Gone Home So Far

Four couples are out of Dancing with the Stars season 35 through three weeks of competition. The most recent elimination is Taylor Hanson and pro Britt Stewart, sent home on Yacht Rock Night, Tuesday 29 September 2026 — and, for the third week running, the couple who left wasn’t the one the judges scored lowest.

Twelve couples are still competing. Here’s the full record of who’s gone, and why the judges’ scores keep failing to predict it.

Every DWTS season 35 elimination so far

None of the four couples above had the lowest score of judges’ points on the night they left — in three of the four cases, someone scored worse and stayed. More on that below.

Week 1: two couples went home in the premiere

Dancing with the Stars season 35 opened with a two-night premiere. Conner Leavitt and pro Adele Zaikman went home on Tuesday 15 September, and Sarah Jane Nader and pro Hailey Bills went home on Wednesday 16 September.

Leavitt is from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Nader is a model and Love Thy Nader star. Adele Zaikman is a first-year pro who earned her spot by winning the inaugural season of Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro — and was out of the main competition after one week.

Neither of them had the lowest judges’ score on their own night. On night one, Guillermo Rodriguez scored 10 out of 30 — the lowest of the evening — and stayed. Leavitt scored 12 and left. On night two, Tatyana Ali scored 12, the lowest of that evening, and stayed. Nader scored 14 and left. On both nights the couple in last place with the judges survived, and the couple one rung above them went home — a sign the vote, not the judges, was doing the deciding work.

What happened with the voting on night one?

A glitch scrapped every vote submitted on ABC’s website, leaving only text messages counted. The show announced it on air.

The hosts, Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, said the text-only total still came in at more than double last season’s premiere — and that was with only eight couples dancing instead of the usual full field. Online voting was working again for night two, and the hosts said the Tuesday episode was the highest-rated in nine years. That outage has not recurred in the two weeks since.

Worth being precise about what this does and does not mean. The vote that sent Leavitt home ran on one channel instead of two. Nobody has published what the result would have been otherwise, and we are not going to guess at it.

What were the night one scores?

The men danced first, to a number-one song from the year they were born.

What were the night two scores?

The women followed on Wednesday, same theme.

Week 2: Giada De Laurentiis and Alan Bersten go home

The season settled into a one-night-a-week format for Viral Hits Night on Tuesday 22 September, with all fourteen remaining couples dancing to songs that had gone viral on social media. Giada De Laurentiis and pro Alan Bersten went home, tied with Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson for the lowest score of the night.

Giada’s salsa had a rocky moment when she lost her footing coming out of a lift, and her subdued post-dance interview didn’t help her case with voters. It’s a smaller version of the week-one pattern: when two couples are tied at the bottom of the judges’ table, the scoreboard alone can’t tell you which one the vote will send home.

Week 3: Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart go home

Yacht Rock Night, Tuesday 29 September, was the most direct break yet between the judges’ order and the actual result. Taylor Hanson and pro Britt Stewart were eliminated on a score of 18 out of 30 — which was not the lowest score of the night, or even the second-lowest. Two other couples scored worse and both survived.

Judge Derek Hough told Hanson on air that it was his best dance of the season, praising his frame and technique. The praise didn’t translate to votes: Guillermo Rodriguez (15) and Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess (17) both scored lower than Hanson and Stewart and both stayed in the competition. Both Hanson and Stewart looked visibly surprised when the result was announced.

Has the vote kept overriding the judges’ scores?

Yes, every week so far — in a different way each time.

Week one: on both premiere nights, the couple in last place with the judges survived, and the couple one rung above them went home.

Week two: Guillermo Rodriguez and Giada De Laurentiis tied for the night’s lowest score, 12 apiece. A tied scoreboard can’t explain by itself which half of the tie leaves — only the vote decided that Giada, not Guillermo, would go.

Week three: the clearest break yet. Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart’s 18 wasn’t the lowest score of the night, or the second-lowest — Guillermo Rodriguez (15) and Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess (17) both scored worse and both survived. Three weeks in, the judges’ leaderboard still hasn’t correctly predicted who actually leaves.

One couple runs through all three weeks: Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson have had the lowest, or tied-lowest, judges’ score of the night every single week — 10 in week one, a tie at 12 in week two, 15 in week three — and the vote has kept them in the competition every time.

Who’s on top after week 3?

Two couples are tied for the lead after Yacht Rock Night: Amber Glenn with Pasha Pashkov, and Harry Shum Jr. with Jenna Johnson, both on 24. Both were also among the top scorers in week two, making them the most consistent couples of the season so far.

At the bottom, Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson sit on 15 — their third straight week as the lowest, or tied-lowest, score on the board, and their third straight week surviving anyway.

Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu. Week four is Tuesday 6 October, and the theme is Mariah Carey Night.
