Club Kid opens today, Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, in limited US release from A24, so the only place to watch it right now is a movie theater. No streaming, digital or VOD date has been announced as of 2:32 a.m. ET on Nov. 6. Jordan Firstman wrote, directed and stars in this R-rated comedy-drama about a New York club promoter who meets the 10-year-old son he never knew he had.

Where can I watch Club Kid right now?

In US theaters only, and only in select ones, because this is a limited release. A24’s film page has a showtimes finder, and Rotten Tomatoes points ticket buyers to Fandango. We did not find a published theater count or a full list of cities, so check your own area before you plan around it.

A24 advertises free opening-weekend tickets as a general perk of its paid AAA24 membership, so check the terms for this film if you are a member.

Is Club Kid on streaming or VOD?

No. No streaming, digital or VOD date has been announced, and A24 lists the film as in theaters only. No platform has been named either, and we won’t guess at a window. Any page giving you a specific streaming date today is not working from an A24 announcement we could find.

When does Club Kid go wide in the US?

A wider rollout has been reported, but A24’s page shows no date. TheWrap’s Aug. 19 trailer story said the select-theater opening would be followed by a nationwide rollout, with no date. The Numbers, a box office database, lists Nov. 25, 2026, as the day the film expands wide. That listing is the only place we found the date, so treat it as unconfirmed until A24 says so.

When does Club Kid open outside the US?

The earliest date we found is France, on Nov. 4, 2026, and others follow through January 2027. This is a short list of the dates we could find, not a complete one. The last column shows how many independent sources we found for each date.

Is Club Kid about Michael Alig or Party Monster?

No. Club Kid is fiction and is not about Michael Alig, Party Monster or the 1990s Club Kids killing.

What is Club Kid rated, and how long is it?

It is rated R and runs 122 minutes, or 2 hours 2 minutes, per A24. The MPA’s reason is drug content throughout, strong sexual content, brief graphic nudity and language throughout. Under an R rating, anyone under 17 needs an accompanying parent or adult guardian. Some other listings give a slightly different runtime, so we are using A24’s figure.

Who is in the Club Kid cast?

Jordan Firstman leads as Peter, with newcomer Reggie Absolom as his son, Arlo. The main roles are:

  • Jordan Firstman as Peter: the New York club promoter at the center of the film.
  • Reggie Absolom as Arlo: Peter’s 10-year-old son.
  • Cara Delevingne as Sophie: Peter’s business partner.
  • Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Edison: a friend of Arlo’s mother, who brings him to Peter.
  • Diego Calva as Oscar: Arlo’s social worker.
  • Eldar Isgandarov as Nicky: Peter’s freeloading roommate.

Colleen Camp, Vicki Pepperdine, Nigil Whyte, Saturn Risin9, Miss Benny and Alaska Riley also appear.

Behind the camera, Firstman makes his feature directing debut from his own script. Adam Newport-Berra shot the film on 35mm, and Cristobal Tapia de Veer composed the music.

What is Club Kid about?

It follows a burnt-out New York party promoter whose life changes when a 10-year-old son he never knew about arrives at his door.

Spoiler note: this section covers the setup only and does not describe the ending.

A24’s synopsis is short: a hard-partying New York club promoter has his whirlwind life upended by the son’s arrival. The film opens on a club night in 2016, then picks up about a decade later with Peter still in the same routine and running out of energy for it.

Sophie pushes him out of their partnership, and Edison brings Arlo over from the UK. Arlo’s mother has died, and Peter takes the boy in. Father and son, strangers to each other, start to connect through music, and the film follows what that does to both of them.

Is Club Kid any good?

Yes, with limits: it is a warm, funny crowd-pleaser carried by its father-son chemistry, but the formula is familiar and it gives Arlo’s grief too little room.

The scores below were read at 2:32 a.m. ET on Nov. 6, 2026, and both can move as opening-day reviews come in:

  • Rotten Tomatoes: 100% from 89 reviews and Certified Fresh, averaging 8.6 out of 10. There is no audience score yet.
  • Metacritic: 82 from 22 critics, with 21 positive, none mixed and 1 negative.

A 100% Tomatometer means every counted review was positive, not that every critic gave it top marks. The single negative on Metacritic is a reminder that the praise isn’t unanimous.

Our assessment, based on the reviews so far:

  • What works: Firstman and Absolom are the reason to go, and their scenes together give the film its heart. The comedy lands, and the nightlife feels lived-in, helped by camerawork that puts you inside the party.
  • What doesn’t: the redemption-through-fatherhood story follows a well-worn path. Problems between Peter and Arlo tend to resolve easily, and the film is so focused on Peter that Arlo’s loss stays underwritten.

It is an impressive and very likable debut rather than a film that reinvents its genre. Go for the laughs and the central pairing, and expect the story beats to feel familiar.

Where did Club Kid premiere, and who bought it?

It premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes on May 15, 2026, and A24 then took worldwide rights, reportedly for $17 million. One trade report on the deal gave no price, so treat that figure as reported rather than confirmed.

The film then played the fall festival circuit. It won the Grand Prix and the audience prize at Deauville in France, and Variety reported on Nov. 4 that it earned a top prize at the Philadelphia Film Festival.
